Hermione all grown up

Yesterday was the world premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 in London, England.  The gang gave tearful goodbyes to a faithful crowd that had watched them in the spotlight since their first appearance on the red carpet 10 years ago with the premiere of Sorcerer’s Stone.

All of the cast was there in the rainy weather, and fans eagerly awaited as the actors graciously signed books and movies.  The years were apparent on each of their faces.  Some aged gracefully, some were clearly weathered.  And there were several surprises – like who knew just how handsome Neville (aka Matt Lewis) was in real life?!?

In the spotlight, however, were the three stars of the film.  And while they all looked dashing in their grown-up duds and a decade of experience behind them, one of the trio clearly shone above them all.

Wearing Oscar de la Renta, Emma Watson looked every bit angelic in the whimsical gown.  It was a far cry from the shapeless shift she wore when just a child.  And her pixie cut has caused a worldwide adoration of the look she’s been sporting for over a year now, a love that has replaced the shock when she first cut off her infamous Hermione Grainger hair.  But her new ‘do has given her the appearance of being forever young while no longer a child.

And in case you had any doubt that Emma could move past her days as Hermione, let me gift you with the recent photo shoot she did with Harper’s Bazaar Magazine a short while ago.

Stunning.

It is my prediction that all three of these stars, along with the many other actors and actresses that began their careers with Harry Potter, will go on to have very successful careers.  But those of us who have devoured the books and anxiously awaited each movie as it came out, we will always hold a special place in our hearts for the kids who gave us Hogwarts, Wingardium Leviosa spells, Pumpkin Juice, and a bit of magic to carry with us forever.

I am a huge fan of the Harry Potter books, all of them are so competent and mysterious. But I didn’t think the film series were ideal in any respect, but they were still great movies. With that, I was pretty excited to see the end of the film franchise, and impressed with the trailers. So I had high expectations. And thankfully it didn’t let you down, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II, blew past my already high expectations and I was enthralled!

The entire movie looked remarkable! The cinematography quite well done, the art direction was fantastic. The movie was beautiful to view, the visuals were spectacular and truly Oscar worthy! The set designers, cinematographers really need to be awarded for their work, because it looks like they spend of time and money on the look of the film.

The cast of the film was nearly excellent, they should all be applauded too. Emma Watson, as usual is and great and she’ll have a bright career ahead of her. Rupert Grint is pretty much great also, he is a fine actor indeed. Daniel Radcliffe did a wonderful job and was very unique as Harry Potter. Although I think Ralph Fiennes was the star of the film, he did incredible job as the bad, crazy Lord Voldemort, I think he deserves an Oscar Nomination for his task. The other cast were also great too.

We all grew up overtime with the series, we followed the adventures of Harry Potter for about 10 years, I think. It seems very weird that there will not be any more Harry Potter films to look forward too. I am going to miss the franchise completely! However I am happy the series got an amazing ending. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II is not only the best film in the series, but it is probably the one of the best films of 2011. Everyone should see this film, even if they don’t like past Harry Potter films.

    Have a nice day!
